Work one-on-one with AMFA artist-in-residence Chakaia Booker and Justin Sanz, Master Printer at the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, as they lead a two-day workshop in the printmaking collage technique, chine collé. This is the same process that Booker and Sanz use to make her prints that are currently on view in the Robyn and John Horn Gallery.
Students will learn how to use multicolored papers to hand draw or paint imagery that will then be cut out and collaged together through the printing press. You are welcome to bring any of your own printed or drawn imagery on thinner paper to utilize in the workshop.
This two-day workshop takes place Saturday, September 23, and Sunday, September 24, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
