The fun of Fridays on the Lawn continues this fall with a live music series featuring local artist performances on AMFA’s Event Lawn.
Bring a blanket to relax and enjoy this special night of music, drinks, and food with friends and family in the park.
This week’s performer is Bonnie Montgomery.
Raised in rural Arkansas on a soundtrack of southern gospel, Texas swing, Delta blues, and Ozark bluegrass, Bonnie Montgomery trained as an opera singer before launching her award-winning career in outlaw country. She embraces that diversity with 2023’s River, a versatile record that shows just how broad Montgomery’s vision of American Roots music can be.
Arriving on the heels of projects like Billy Blythe, her critically-acclaimed opera about Bill Clinton’s childhood, and Forever, the 2018 solo record that earned Montgomery the titles of “Best Americana Artist” and “Best Female Vocalist” from the Arkansas Country Music Awards, River flows freely from one genre to the next.
It’s the crystallization of a sound Montgomery has been creating for years, blurring the boundaries between traditional classifications while presenting Montgomery not only as a powerhouse vocalist, but as an autobiographical storyteller and captivating songwriter, too.
Picnic Experiences
Elevate your experience at Fridays on the Lawn with a pop-up picnic! Picnic VIPs enjoy reserved prime seating on the lawn with a cozy blanket and picnic spread complete with food and beverage service.
Each picnic experience includes:
- Park Grill’s fan-favorite pretzel charcuterie board and other assorted small bites
- A bottle of wine and souvenir wine glasses
- Additional food and beverages available for purchase from your dedicated server
Picnic experiences are $175 for members or $195 for non-members for each group reservation, with a minimum of two guests and maximum of four guests.
