Eclipse Film Screening: Fantasia (1940)

April 7 @ 12:30 pm 2:30 pm

Film still from Fantasia depicting Mickey Mouse wearing a red cloak and sorcerer's hat.

For Walt Disney Studios’ third full-length animated feature, Walt Disney partnered with the brilliant composer Leopold Stokowski to produce a new groundbreaking film in which classical music was the star.

Stokowski arranged this renowned collection of celebrated musical scores, which in turn inspired Disney animators to create a series of dreamlike vignettes that have since captivated audiences for decades.

Unseen on the big screen for nearly thirty years, this new re-release of Fantasia celebrates a milestone in cinematic history. What began as a vehicle to enhance Mickey Mouse’s career blossomed into a full-blown feature that remains unique in the world of animation.

Running Time: 2 hours, 4 minutes
