Concert Series: The Rumble featuring Chief Joseph Boudreaux, Jr.

The Rumble featuring Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. is New Orleans’ premier Mardi Gras Indian Funk ensemble, embodying the essence of NOLA music and Black masking culture.

Founded in 2021 by members of the GRAMMY-nominated band Cha Wa, The Rumble blends authentic brass sounds with deep funk and street culture, providing an immersive New Orleans experience.

Led by Second Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. of the Golden Eagles Indian tribe, the group comprises talented artists dedicated to preserving and evolving the city’s musical legacy.

With roots in Mardi Gras Indian funk pioneered by Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, the band features acclaimed trumpeter Aurélien Barnes, trombonist José Maize, guitarist Ari Teitel, bassist TJ Norris, and keyboardist Andriu Yanovski.

With each member contributing vocals, The Rumble carries the torch of New Orleans music, honoring past greats while offering a fresh and contemporary sound.
