Through the Distinguished Laureate Series, the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame invites previous inductees back to the community to share their wisdom, gifts, and talents with the people of Arkansas. This Artist Talk will welcome Arkansas-born artist Kevin Cole for a lecture entitled Pushing Forward: Politics, Social Conflict & The Racial Divide in the Art of Kevin Cole.

About Kevin Cole

Kevin Cole received his BS from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, an MA in art education from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and an MFA from Northern Illinois University. Within the last 32 years, he has received 31 grants and fellowships, 66 awards in art, and 51 teaching awards.

His artwork has been featured in more than 500 exhibitions and can be found in more than 4,000 public, private, corporate, and museum collections throughout the United States and abroad.

His artwork has been featured in more than 141 publications, most recently Forbes Magazine, The Guardian Magazine, The Washington Post, Sculpture Magazine, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, The Union Tribune, The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
