Creative Saturdays

April 13 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

Photo of a mother, grandmother, and young girl sitting at a table doing arts and crafts with other families in the background.

Inspired by the art on view in Action/Abstraction Redefined: Modern Native American Abstract Art, 1940s to 1970s, this Creative Saturdays’ make-and-take activity invites guests to create stamps and prints using color and shape in the Windgate Art School.

Expand this special experience by discovering what the rest of the Museum has to offer you:

  • Grab a family-friendly Treasure Map and start an adventure that ends with a special prize.
  • Enjoy a coffee or tea and browse the books in the Cultural Living Room.
  • Explore the galleries and ask our docents questions about the art on view.
  • Relax over brunch with incredible views and a locally inspired menu at Park Grill.

Creative Saturdays and The Treasure Map are supported by the Alice L. Walton Foundation.

The Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen.

Action/Abstraction Redefined is organized by IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, Santa Fe, NM. Support for this exhibition is provided by Art Bridges.

Action/Abstraction Redefined: Modern Native Art, 1940s to 1970s is organized by Dr. Manuela Well-Off-Man, chief curator, IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, Tatiana Lomahaftewa-Singer, curator of collections, IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, and Dr. Lara Evans, IAIA Associate Professor of Native Art History.
